will a skype phone from australia work in france?
hi, i live in australia and I'm going to move to france for a while. I've heard about the skype 3G phone on sale in australia. will it work in france if I want to call my friends in Australia? also are there any other alternatives? and what are the pros/ cons of a 3 skype phone?

Why is Singapore not part of the Australia work holiday visa scheme when they are part of ours? Dampening
Why is Singapore not part of the Australia work holiday visa scheme when they are part of ours? Dampening~?
I was searching through the list of countries eligible for a work holiday visa in Australia and was unhappily hit with the fact that Singapore is not part of the countries allowed. I did a check on the Singapore MOM side and found out that we allow the ozzies to work and holiday here but not us? That's kind of biased in my opinion, since other asian countries such as Taiwan and HKSAR get that privillege. Anyone knows why?

I don't think anyone outside the two governments actually knows the answer to your question, but I do know that there are always extensive negotiations between countries regarding special visas and that agreements must be signed before the visas are made available. Perhaps Singapore has less stringent requirements than Australia related to the relative probability of visa overstayers and the actions to be taken when/if this occurs.

will my hair straightener from australia work in the usa
will my hair straightener from australia work in the usa?
will my hair straightener from australia work in the USA? will it heat up properly even with the different wattage? is an adapter all i need? do you know where you can buy a step up adaptor from then?

You will need a currency converter. The problem with that is that alot of appliances don't work well even with a converter. You can probably pick one up pretty cheap while you in the US.
